1. Getting started as a tutor
Sign up as a tutor to create your account, then complete your profile so Ensena can review and verify it before you appear in tutor search results.
2. Creating your tutor profile
Add your subjects, academic levels, teaching style, bio and qualifications. A complete, specific profile helps students understand whether you're the right fit before they book.
3. Setting your availability
Set which days and times you're generally available. Students can only book times that fall within your stated availability.
4. Setting your rates
Set your hourly rate for private lessons. This is the price shown to students for Book Instantly, and the baseline a Pre-approval or Special Offer is calculated from.
5. Discovery Sessions
Every student gets one free Discovery Session per tutor: a short introductory meeting to discuss goals and see if you're a good fit, before any paid lessons.
6. Private lessons
Students can book a private lesson instantly at your published rate, or send you a Pre-approval request describing the schedule they want, which you confirm before they pay.
7. Creating Group Classes
You can create a Group Class with its own subject, level, schedule, price and seat limit. New classes go through a review step before they're published to students.
8. Pre-approval requests
When a student requests Pre-approval, you can accept it as-is, send a Special Offer instead, suggest changes, or decline it, all from your Inbox.
9. Sending Special Offers
You can choose to offer a student a discounted rate for private lessons, up to Ensena's maximum discount limit. The student must accept the offer before it takes effect. Discounts are never automatic.
10. Managing students
Your student list shows everyone you've taught or are scheduled to teach, along with their booking and message history with you.
11. Using the virtual classroom
For online lessons, you can enter the virtual classroom shortly before a scheduled lesson starts, directly from your lesson card.
12. Tutor earnings
Your earnings are the amount a student pays minus Ensena's commission, which is always calculated on the price actually paid, including any discount from a Special Offer. Funds are held in escrow until a lesson is completed, and you can withdraw available earnings from your Earnings page.
13. Cancellations
You can reschedule or cancel an upcoming lesson from Manage on the lesson card. Frequent late cancellations may affect your standing on the platform.
14. Tutor standards
Tutors are expected to attend booked lessons on time, communicate professionally, and keep their availability and pricing accurate and up to date.
